We called ahead to see if we could check in early since we were going to arrive sooner than expected, and were told our room wasn't ready yet. We arrived in Rockford, and decided to see if there was someplace where we could wait at or near the Alpine inn. When I went to the front desk to ask if we could wait in the lobby until our room was ready, we were checked in and had our room key right away! For the two of us, the room was all we needed, and we were comfortable. From that first phone call, the check-in, our stay and the check-out, the staff were all very nice and helpful. We inadvertently left a bag, and the front desk attendant went above and beyond to contact us to let us know our bag was at the front desk.

It's close to many fast food places and restaurants and also not too far from walmart and other stores. The staff is very friendly and they get you to your room quickly. The room was comfortable, beds were soft and the AC/heat worked great. The TV was nice and big and the cable connection was strong. There was plenty of space in the "kitchen" area to put your groceries, the fridge was the normal mini fridge size, but it keeps the food nice and cold and actually keeps your frozen items frozen. Price is also good, you get what you pay for and a little extra. It doesn't have as many amenities as a hotel would, but it's great if you're just looking for a place to eat, sleep and hang out during your trip.
